This men's silk jyuban (underkimono) comes in stylish greyish blue with a wonderful Shunga 春画 design. It has a soft and smooth touch in good quality silk.
The kimono was tacking (kari-nui) so I ordered to finish sewing therefore the condition is excellent and the size is big and wide enough for western people.
It is not easy to tell the age of Shunga items like those but the fabric itself seems to be c. 1930s before WWⅡ. The silk is much better quality than modern silk because of the quality of cocoon. The kimono is a real tailor made from the beginning of sketch design then dyed as personal order. The white fabric parts look like fan shape were shibori 絞り tie dyed.
It would be stunning to use as a dress and also display as a decorative piece for a room.
Note: This kimono does not come with a belt. If you would like one, please check my casual obi collection on casual-obi-belt.html. Prices start from £7 or £8 for a belt.
