This is a women's ro silk summer kimono which has a soft and smooth touch in a good quality of silk. It is so-called 'hitoe' (single lining), which means it has no lining. The textile gives a cool summer feel.
The kimono has fantastic design of flock of birds and susuki (Japanese pampas grass) which is partly embroidered in refreshing navy blue. It is like a piece of art and is fabulous for display or wearing.
The kimono has five mons (family crests). The symbol of the mon is Gosan no Kiri mon (Three paulownia leaves and flowers). Sentimental Journey is a really smart and attractive vintage piece
This kimono is quite long. Please check the measurement. You may need to have a bit of tuck at your waist with this length of kimono unless you are very tall. You can adjust the length by using a koshihimo (a cord tied around the waist of a womans kimono to hold it in place). Koshihimo is available for £4. Please ask for more details.
It has a tiny mark around the top front left, but as a whole, it is in very good condition for the age. Please check the detail photos and the 'Extra Images'.
Note: This kimono does not come with a belt. If you would like one, please check my casual obi collection on casual-obi-belt.html. Prices start from £7 or £8 for a belt.
