This is a women's silk kimono which has a fantastic floral pattern all over in a pretty salmon pink. The design of the flowers is really enchanting. The flowers are botan (peony), kiku (chrysanthemum), ume (plum) and ayame (iris).
Some parts of flowers are embroidered and also some parts are embroidered with gold-couching.
It has a hiro-eri (wide lapel). The lining is red silk, typical of the Taisho Era. It has a mon (family crest) in the centre of the back at the neck. The symbol of the mon is maru ni izutsu (well crib in a circle). It would be stunning to display as a decorative piece for a room.
Sunset Boulevard is a really elegant and attractive antique piece.
This kimono is quite long. Please check the measurement. You may need to have a bit of tuck at your waist with this length of kimono unless you are very tall. You can adjust the length by using a koshihimo (a cord tied around the waist of a womans kimono to hold it in place). Koshihimo is available for £4. Please ask for more details.
It has certain wear and some flaws. Please check the detail photos and the 'Extra Images'.
Note: This kimono does not come with a belt. If you would like one, please check my casual obi collection on casual-obi-belt.html. Prices start from £7 or £8 for a belt.
