This is a fantastic antique Chuya obi. The Chuya obi is a lined obi made by sewing together two pieces of cloth over a stiff lining. The Chuya means 'day and night' so chuya obi is called from the combination of bright and dark colours.

This obi has rare pre-war Western imagery. The international theme clearly has a Olympic international flavour and is unusual for a kimono design which I really love. The zeppelin is particularly striking. The other side has a plain black shusu satin like silk. Wonderland obi is a really attractive and charming antique piece. It would be stunning to use as display as a wonderful piece of art for a room.

It has some flaws and certain wear. However it is such an amazing piece. I guess the original owner of the obi loved it very much. Please check the detailed photos.
