First...I love this kimono so much! It's just breathtaking. This antique women’s silk kimono has an exquisite floral pattern in a glamorous purple colour. It has a beautiful floral jacquard design. The textile is kinsha chirimen (fine crepe) silk which is soft and smooth touch in good quality.
It has a bachi-eri (folded lapel). The lining of the top main part is in red silk and the bottom part is in dark browny beige silk. The kimono would be stunning to use as a dress and also display as a fabulous piece of art for a room.
Memoirs of a Geisha is a really attractive and gorgeous antique piece. The kimono is definitely a special piece and one of my favourite kimonos.
It has certain wear and some marks, but as a whole it is in a pretty good condition for the age. The kimono has been carefully repaired in a cople of places at the back right bottom and around the left chest. I guess that the original owner of the kimono loved it very much. Note: This kimono does not come with a belt. If you would like one, please check my casual obi collection on casual-obi-belt.html. Prices start from £7 or £8 for a belt.
